Many customers have asked if List Bulk Import supports importing the metadata column. I’m pleased to tell you that List Bulk Import has the capability. In this two-part series, I’ll guide you through the process. In Part 1, I’ll show you how to configure the metadata column. Part 2 will explain how to import the metadata using List Bulk Import.

To begin, you should connect the target SharePoint site URL select the environment, and enter user information. Click Connect button.

Select an Import Tool to use. In this example, I select Create Import Job.

To import data from the SharePoint list, select the Existing SharePoint list option and complete additional information for the source site including URL, environment, and user name. Click Next when complete.

In the Source Information tab, select the List Name and View that you want to import.

In the Target Information tab, select the List Name, then click Next.

In Map the Columns, make sure the same data type is listed under Target Columns and Source Columns. Click the Next button. Columns that are selected to map should not be null/empty.

Make sure that all mapped columns must be edited mapping.

Select Map or Auto Map to map data for them. Use Remove Map if you want to change data. Click Close to complete mapping.

Select Check for Record Duplication. Click Next.

Save the template then click Import.

When the import is complete, results are shown at the bottom of the window. You can also click View Log to see the results.

Go to the Target List to see imported data.
