While our original Azure backend has successfully powered thousands of alerts across customer environments\, we knew we could make it even better. \nToday we’re excited to introduce the Alert Plus Azure Subscription Edition\, our next-generation alert processing engine designed around Microsoft Graph Change Notifications. \nThis is the biggest architectural enhancement we’ve made since launching Alert Plus for SharePoint Online. \nREAD THE FULL ARTICLE“We’ll Just Use Power Automate”: What Does Replacing 1\,000 SharePoint Alerts Actually Cost?\nBy Rob Manfredi\, President\, Bamboo Solutions \nWhen organizations evaluate replacements for classic SharePoint Alerts\, Power Automate is usually part of the conversation. \nAnd it should be. \nPower Automate is an excellent automation platform. For business processes\, approvals\, integrations\, multi-step workflows\, and custom automation\, it is an incredibly powerful tool. \nBut there is an important question organizations should ask before deciding to use Power Automate to replace hundreds or thousands of SharePoint Alerts: \nWho is going to create and maintain all those flows — and what does that actually cost? \nREAD THE FULL ARTICLESHAREPOINT EVENTS:\n\nSeptember 2\, Online – SharePoint Alerts Are Gone. SUMMARY:Bamboo Nation Bulletin – September
DESCRIPTION:Your inside scoop on our enterprise-class software and consulting services designed to extend the native capabilities of SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365. \nSeptember 2026 \nIn This Issue\n\nSeptember Product Updates\nBlogs: A Smarter Knowledge Base for SharePoint Online Is Coming\nFeature Video - Tabify - The Workhorse of Every SharePoint Portal\nAdditional Resources\nResource Page\nYouTube Channel\n\nSeptember Product Updates \nAlert Plus Introduces Stronger Microsoft 365 Authentication and Expanded Administration Tools \nThe latest Alert Plus release is now available\, delivering important security enhancements\, improved certificate and permission management\, and a more streamlined administrative experience. \nThis release includes: \n\nAlert Me v1.26.8.28\nAlert Admin v1.26.8.28\nBamboo Tenant Manager v1.26.9.8\nAlert Plus backend v1.26.9.11\n\nStronger Microsoft 365 Authentication \nAlert Plus can now authenticate requests using the signed-in user’s Microsoft 365 identity instead of relying solely on a shared service key. Each request is restricted to the customer’s own tenant\, providing stronger identity protection and better tenant isolation. \nThe release also introduces the foundation for Microsoft Entra role-based access control. As this capability is enabled\, organizations will be able to assign Alert Plus roles to individual users or groups to control who can view\, create\, manage and administer alerts. \nExisting alerts will continue to run while customers complete the new authentication setup. \nImproved Certificate and Permission Management \nBamboo Tenant Manager now provides significantly better visibility and control over the application registrations used by Alert Plus. \nAdministrators can now: \n\nGenerate\, download and rotate the certificate Alert Plus uses to access SharePoint.\nSee which certificate is assigned to each app registration.\nView certificate thumbprints and expiration dates.\nReceive warnings when certificates are approaching expiration.\nCheck whether each app registration has the required Microsoft Graph and SharePoint permissions.\nIdentify permissions that are missing or awaiting administrator consent.\nAssign a dedicated certificate to an app registration or use the shared tenant certificate.\n\nThese improvements make it easier to maintain a healthy Alert Plus environment and resolve configuration issues before they interrupt alert delivery. \nMore Flexibility for Customer-Hosted Environments \nCustomers running the Alert Plus backend in their own Microsoft Azure subscription can now configure Alert Plus to use their own Microsoft Entra app registration without rebuilding or redeploying the SharePoint packages. \nThe release also expands authentication support for Microsoft GCC High and Department of Defense tenants. \nA Better Bamboo Tenant Manager Experience \nBamboo Tenant Manager includes several interface and usability improvements: \n\nA new authentication status card displays the tenant’s current rollout stage.\nQueue and function-app names are now entered as individual tags.\nAlert Plus settings have been reorganized for easier navigation.\nAlert Service Support now includes a dedicated Diagnose option.\nThe App Registration Pool is easier to use on smaller screens.\nNotifications and confirmation dialogs now follow Microsoft Fluent UI standards.\nDark-theme rendering has been improved.\nSeveral layout\, navigation and configuration-screen issues have been corrected.\n\nAdditional Reliability Improvements \nThe release also resolves several issues reported by customers\, including: \n\nIntermittent SharePoint connection failures in tenants using multiple app registrations.\nDelivery failures involving unusually large alert emails.\nLoading issues in GCC High and tenants whose SharePoint addresses do not end in sharepoint.com.\nConfiguration entries being ignored when they specify an app registration without a custom backend address.\nAlert Plus configuration problems in tenants that have not previously been registered.\n\nAlert owners can also now access the run history for their own alerts\, making it easier to confirm execution and investigate delivery questions without requiring administrator assistance. \nAdministrator Action Required \nAfter upgrading Bamboo Tenant Manager\, a SharePoint administrator should approve the new Alert Plus API requests under: \nSharePoint Admin Center → Advanced → API access \nThe required requests are: \n\nMicrosoft Graph – Sites.Read.All\nAlertPlus.Read\nAlertPlus.ReadWrite\n\nA Microsoft Entra administrator must also grant tenant-wide administrator consent for the Alert Plus application. \nExisting alerts will continue to operate while these approvals are completed. Customers should coordinate certificate replacement carefully\, because alert processing may be temporarily interrupted until the new certificate has been uploaded to every applicable Microsoft Entra app registration. \nThis release represents another major step in the evolution of Alert Plus\, providing stronger Microsoft 365 security\, better administrative visibility and greater deployment flexibility for organizations replacing SharePoint’s retired native alert functionality. \n\n Product Overview\n\nFEATURED ARTICLE:\nA Smarter Knowledge Base for SharePoint Online Is Coming\nBy Mat DiPasquale\, Bamboo Solutions \nModern design\, AI-assisted answers\, smarter search\, and faster content creation - inside SharePoint Online.\nSharePoint Online is an excellent platform for collaboration and content management—but organizations still struggle to turn it into a complete\, intuitive knowledge base. \nSharePoint pages\, lists\, document libraries\, and search provide useful building blocks. Creating a polished SharePoint Online knowledge base\, however\, often requires substantial customization\, multiple web parts\, and ongoing administration. Even then\, employees may have difficulty finding the right answer quickly. \nBamboo Solutions is working on a major update to our Knowledge Base product designed to close that gap. The new experience will combine a modern interface with AI-assisted search\, content summaries\, article management\, and content creation. Our goal is straightforward: help organizations create an affordable\, practical\, and easy-to-manage knowledge base directly in SharePoint Online. \nREAD THE FULL ARTICLESHAREPOINT EVENTS:\n\nOctober 8\, Online - SharePoint Alerts Are Gone.
